Welcome to the Collaborative Platform: AI Competences for Religion‑Related Education
This platform is an open, community‑driven learning hub for anyone who wants to discover, deepen, and share AI competences in a religion‑related context.
RE teachers, university staff, and volunteers can develop, share, and improve content together.
What’s the goal?
We provide an open learning space where materials on AI competences for schools, universities, and youth work are created collaboratively.
The platform targets teachers, trainers, and volunteers who want to make AI topics responsibly accessible in religious education.
Our competence model
At the centre is a circle model with four competence areas, each split into three levels:
Understanding, Applying, Reflecting, and Creating.
These areas build on one another, influence each other, and are linked by the central competence AI Leadership.
| Competence area | Description | Colour codes (levels 1/2/3) |
|---|---|---|
| Understanding | Fundamentals and mechanisms of AI | #2aa537 / #6dba74 / #aad4ae |
| Applying | Using AI tools in the learning process | #0f6ab2 / #5596c9 / #9ec3e0 |
| Reflecting | Critical engagement with AI | #f3940d / #f7b44e / #fad49a |
| Creating | Actively advancing AI systems | #941f81 / #b262a3 / #d5a5cc |
Every learning item is assigned to a competence area and level—clearly marked by colour and content.

How the platform works
- Open content: All materials are stored as Markdown files in the Codeberg repository.
- Easy contribution: Use the “Contribute” button on any page to edit content or add new items.
- Guides included: A dedicated page walks you through the contribution process—no coding skills needed.
- Search: Find content by competence area, level, or keywords.
- Multilingual: The platform starts in German and English—every item can be maintained in both languages.
Who is this for?
- Teachers in schools and universities for religion‑related subjects
- Volunteers and multipliers in church youth work
- Trainers and educators in AI and religion
